"Give us grace for to-day"

"And the child grew, and waxed strong in spirit, filled with wisdom: and the grace of God was upon him." The Scriptural record thus describes the growth of Jesus, who, later on, gave to mankind the message of the redeeming Christ. His strength was spiritual; therefore no material power was able to destroy him. His wisdom was derived from the understanding of man's oneness with God. These blessings of invincible power and divine intelligence evidenced "the grace of God."

Today Christian Science offers us the loving assurance that we can attain the same growth through spiritualized thinking. Our Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, states in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 520), "Growth is the eternal mandate of Mind." It is never too late to experience this growth, because it consists in the laying off of the sense of limitation. Spiritual thinking is always receptive to a progressive unfoldment of good. When we take up the study of Christian Science, we embrace a new concept of Life. So, day by day, true growth appears as the grateful realization of the perfection of our true selfhood becomes clearer.

The ministration of Christian Science in the lives of those who have accepted its promise of loving salvation includes healing. During the course of the regeneration which follows from the study and application of this Science all problems may be scientifically worked out—physical, social, moral, and financial. On page 10 of "Christian Science versus Pantheism" Mrs. Eddy, referring to the healing through Christian Science of "functional, organic, chronic, and acute diseases," states, "All this is accomplished by the grace of God,—the effect of God understood." Christian Science enables one truly to understand God. Through the understanding of the true nature of God, one is empowered to establish and maintain his God-given dominion.
