May I lovingly say to those who are struggling with a prolonged healing, that Love never fails if we only maintain the courage to cling steadfastly to God. I have had the glorious privilege of proving God's care.

When I first began the study of Christian Science I was a very happy woman. I had everything that one could desire for happiness, if it were to be found in worldly possessions. But I was not awake to the realization that all good comes from God, not from any material source. The testing time came. I was afflicted with a mental and physical breakdown, accompanied by a prolonged state of insomnia. The mental agony was so severe that life seemed to have no purpose for me. I was forced to separate from a dear one. I came to the realization then that only an understanding of God could bring real happiness.

I went to make my home with kind relatives, who graciously and lovingly held my hand. The battle for peace, joy, and happiness was a long and hard one, but it was won as I became more loving, patient, gentle, humble, and obedient. Each step was one of progress, and led to active church membership and the privilege of class instruction. Today I thank God for the desire to continue reading the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy.
