About eight years ago, when I first listened to testimonies of healing in Christian Science, great joy came over me. The hope revived that this blessing, which is available to everyone, could make a dreary existence bearable for me.

A severe case of stomach trouble had often made my life a torment. The trouble appeared when I was only twenty years old, and at that time I believed its cause to be the fact that I had taken a cold drink when I was in a heated condition. In the course of many years the original stomach catarrh grew worse and worse, and finally became distention of the stomach. Extreme dyspepsia resulted, also a loss of weight to ninety pounds, and great discouragement and melancholy.

This hopeless condition of forty years' standing, from which no human being could free me, was healed in a short time through Christian Science. When I became acquainted with this glorious teaching, new hope at once flowed in upon me, for I knew that the only way to freedom was through trust in God's omnipotence. Thanks to the loving help of a practitioner, after six months I could give my testimony of healing.
