Extracts from Reports of Christian Science Committees on Publication

Interviews with newspapermen of the Midlothian papers have nearly always met with a ready response, frequently from the editor in person, and the attitude of these gentlemen is friendly, while a number show real interest.

The editor of one of the most popular evening papers expressed genuine appreciation of the members of our denomination. The editor of another prominent evening paper remarked that we need not fear any disparaging comments in his paper regarding Christian Science. This, no doubt, referred to his paper's policy from an editorial point of view, as occasionally comments somewhat unfavorable to Christian Science appear. There is no doubt that Christian Science is becoming more and more appreciated as Christian in the highest meaning of the word.

On three occasions derogatory comments and faulty comparisons appeared in the press. Two of these were printed in the Evening Dispatch, and a third in a local Baptist church magazine. The editor of the evening paper published the Committee's replies, although not in full.
