Christian Scientists will have read with much interest the account given in a recent edition of the Methodist Conference at Bradford, at which the question of spiritual healing was considered, and the instances given of healing through prayer are particularly gratifying and helpful.

A speaker is quoted as saying that "they wanted an answer to Christian Science, and similar movements." Lest that remark should lead your readers to think there is some antagonism between Christian Science and the older established Christian churches, may I be permitted to state that no such antagonism exists in the thoughts of Christian Scientists.

The revival by Christian Science of the spiritual healing practiced by Jesus, and also by his followers during the first three centuries of the Christian era, could not but constitute a challenge to the religious teaching of this age. The only suitable reply to that challenge, and the one for which all Christian Scientists sincerely hope, is a revival of spiritual healing by prayer throughout Christendom.
