What Are You Withholding?

A salesman who was a student of Christian Science had negotiated a highly desirable contract for his former business associates. When the time arrived for him to receive compensation, his principals recanted from their original agreement and offered him a sum considerably less, which he refused.

Although the student was trying to avoid it, bitterness developed and an impasse was reached. It began to appear as though he would receive nothing for his labors. At this point he again took command of his thinking, and placed the problem squarely in God's hands for solution.

A prayerful inventory of his thoughts disclosed the fact that the definite cause of the business difficulty centered in the selfish thought of withholding. These men were withholding wages justly due him for services rendered. Again and again he asked, "What am I withholding?"
