All my life I have loved the Bible, and have tried to...
All my life I have loved the Bible, and have tried to understand and live its truths. This seemed impossible with the meager light derived from the view afforded by the orthodox churches. When a very young girl, I heard of a relative's healing of curvature of the spine by a woman who was a Christian Scientist. Then I forgot, thinking it a mythical story of the long ago. Twenty years later Christian Science came into my life, and I was healed of all manner of ills just by reading the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy.
Growth in the understanding of the spiritual idea, the expression of God, comes through study and application of the rules of this Science. With God all things are possible. This has been proved by demonstrations I have made over illness, lack, and grief at the passing on of loved ones. I have learned that loss and separation are not real.
I am grateful for membership in The Mother Church. Activities in our organization bring true growth. For class instruction also I am most grateful, as through the inspired teaching I received, I was purified and purged of much evil thinking and elevated to divine heights, for the real power of the Christ came into my consciousness, proving that "now are we the sons of God." Gratitude to God for Christ Jesus, the Way-shower, and for Mrs. Eddy, our beloved Leader, is the Christian Scientist's hymn of praise.
