I am most joyfully and profoundly grateful for Christian Science. It has been my only aid for sixteen years. In January, 1936, whilst crossing a main road, I fell very heavily and was unable to get up. When I was lifted up, Love as always was present, for the first one I saw was a student of Christian Science. She stayed by and patiently and lovingly helped, with others, to get me into a taxi. When we reached my home, she saw that I was as comfortable as possible, then went to ask someone to come and stay overnight. Eventually I was put to bed. A practitioner came, but was unable to keep on with the work, being too busy, so the next day another one very lovingly continued.

As some bones were broken, it seemed wise to ask a doctor to examine me. He said X rays were necessary, and the results showed a very badly broken hip and upper arm. I asked that the setting be done in my room, but that was refused, so I went to a hospital just for that purpose, where more X rays were considered necessary before any setting was done. During my two days' stay in the hospital the verse from our Leader's hymn "Satisfied" (Poems, p. 79),
