Our True Selfhood

In the third chapter of the first epistle of John are the words, "Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God." God is the Father, and we, in our true selfhood, are His sons.

Christian Science throws great light on the Scriptures, both of the Old and the New Testament, brining out the spiritual truth they contain. The passage just quoted becomes perfectly plain when we learn the truth about God and man as Christian Science reveals it. What is this spiritual truth? It is that God is Mind, and that man is Mind's idea—God's son. Then all men are, in their true selfhood, the ideas or sons of God.
