From Letters, Substantially as Published

The thoughtful consideration which a correspondent gave to your report of a recent lecture on Christian Science delivered under the auspices of First Church of Christ, Scientist, Pittsfield, as shown by his letter published in your issue of June 7, is appreciated. But since he has not correctly interpreted some of the points brought out in the lecture, I should like to have space for the following:

Christian Science does not rest upon any "hypothesis"; it rests upon absolute fact and the law of God, the presence and availability of which law has been proved by the spiritually-minded down through the ages. We welcome your correspondent's reference to the healing works recorded in Acts, for they show that the power to heal demonstrated by Jesus was not confined to himself, but is to be demonstrated by all who understand his words and works, as he promised.
