At the period when I found Christian Science I was not looking for health, but the sufferings that loaded the world greatly perplexed me. Life seemed aimless, dull, and full of troubles. Having learned that there exists a Science which affords the solution to all earthly problems, I immediately undertook the study thereof. A wonderful sense of peace and assurance and gladness came to me from the very start. I knew I had found what I was looking for.
Since then many problems—both my own and those of others—have been solved. It will be impossible to recount them all, but I want to mention the most outstanding of them. I was healed of facial paralysis in about three months through the help of absent treatments and through entire reliance on God. A skin disease, which started from the scratch of a pin, was suddenly stopped through faithful study of the book of Job with the help of our textbook, Science and Health. I had a striking demonstration in a financial difficulty. Abundance and activity were demonstrated where stagnation had presented itself. Through my realization that justice is one of God's eternal and unchangeable qualities, a court case was avoided at the very last moment.
My testimony would not be complete if I did not mention the great change of character which has taken place in me since the study of Christian Science was started. It has developed in me love and consideration and much patience with my fellow men. I especially appreciate its great help in my profession of teaching music.
