It is a privilege and a duty to tell of the benefits I have received though Christian Science.

In 1931 my husband was afflicted with a kind of swelling which would appear suddenly in the most unexpected places, and disappear as suddenly. In addition to this he had developed influenza, after a severe attack of which he had become very much depressed. Knowing little about Christian Science, we were not successful in our efforts to free my husband from this sickness and depression. Help from one practitioner having failed to meet the case, we were very nearly despondent, but eventually decided to try another practitioner. Our joy was great to find quick improvement, and in a week my husband was his cherry self once more.

Shortly after this my sister's baby girl was taken to a hospital with all hope for her given up. This was on a Sunday evening. After attending the Christian Science service in Launceston, I requested the practitioner who had helped my husband to work for my little niece. Next morning, when my sister and her husband went to the hospital early, the baby was jumping about in her cot. The attendant in the ward said that a miracle had taken place about midnight. The child had been paralyzed and hardly alive on Sunday, and now she was well. The staff were so puzzled that they advised my sister to keep a close watch on the baby for any sign of a return. But there was no return of that error, and the girl is now a healthy, happy four-year-old.
