About ten years ago I learned to know and love Christian Science, and as I read the many wonderful testimonies in The Herald of Christian Science (German edition) and became absorbed in the study of the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, the thought came to me that I, too, should put into practice what I had learned.

I received an injury to my ankle bone, which resulted in blood poisoning. The foot was very much discolored, and in a short time the leg became swollen up to the thigh. The pain was very severe. After I had spent a few days in this condition, it became clear to me that only Truth could free me from my false thinking. It was a hard battle, but Truth won a complete victory. With my small understanding of Christian Science I declared the truth, which, as Jesus said, frees us from every error. The results of divine Love exceeded all my expectations; for almost visibly the swelling disappeared, the pain ceased immediately, and I was healed.

Spurred on by this proof of divine omnipotence, I studied our textbook more earnestly. For several years I have been able, partly through the help of a friend, a Christian Science worker, to make many beautiful demonstrations for my family as well as for myself.
