Extracts from Reports of Christian Science Committees on Publication

Czechoslovakia.

On May 30 a lecture on Mrs. Eddy was given at the Jewish Women's Club. I visited the lecturer before the lecture. She showed great interest in Christian Science. The lecturer decided to omit the most glaring misstatements and to give the introduction and a correction at the end, according to my draft taken from Sibyl Wilbur's book. This was afterwards circulated among the members. Several days after the lecture I visited the lecturer, thanking her for her kindness, and presented her with Sibyl Wilbur's book. I, in my turn, received a copy of her lecture.

In June, 1934, a series of articles entitled "Witchcraft, Magic, and Miracles of Healing" appeared in the German Prague newspapers Bohemia and Prager Neueste Nachrichten, which according to the Committee on Publication for Germany appeared years before in a Berlin paper called Tempo. I got in touch with the editor of the Bohemia, whose attitude was friendly and who accepted for both papers my correction, which appeared in the Bohemia on Sunday, June 17, and in the Prager Neueste Nachrichten on June 19. In the Bohemia appeared also, free of charge, an announcement of our services and Reading Room hours, and the editor promised to give out further announcements.
