An Open Door

Before us Thou an open door hast set,
Disclosing sacred vastnesses of Love;
Revealing the infinitude of Mind,
Where aspirations lead beyond, above
Illusions of the senses, dumb and blind.

No man can shut the door, no mortal dream
Of life apart from Thee can bar the way,
Or hide the brightness of Thy perfect plan,
Or dim the glory of Thy endless day,
Unfolding all the harmonies of man.

O promise sweet, inevitably kept!
By dear humility we find the road.
While angel messages our thoughts employ
We reach the secret place in Soul's abode,
Wherein are beauty, plenty, health, and joy.
