Prayer is not begging God to give us something, or to do something for us. . . . Prayer should give us a consciousness of God. By continual practice in seeking Him, and learning to know Him, we come to a better consciousness of Him. We cannot know God without prayer.

And as we become more conscious of God, we find that prayer has given us an attitude on life that makes for unity of self and inward peace and self-control. . . .
