I feel immense gratitude for Christian Science
I feel immense gratitude for Christian Science. In 1916, when I was in great need, God, in answer to my prayer for help, led me to a faithful practitioner. I was suffering from a severe case of fear caused by grippe, and was healed in one treatment. The kindness which prompted the practitioner to offer me some Christian Science literature was repelled; but I was led, within the hour, to a place where I bought a copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. Since that day I have had many healings and blessings.
A fall down a flight of stairs, causing a scalp wound, several cracked and broken bones, bruises, and sprains, was an opportunity to prove the nothingness of error and the allness of God, good. With the help of a practitioner I was whole again in three days and able to run and walk and to drive the family automobile with no inconvenience.
Class instruction and membership in The Mother Church are two of the many blessings for which I am grateful. My thankfulness to our Father-Mother God is beyond the power of words to express. In times of seeming bereavement His ever-presence, as revealed by the study of the Bible in connection with Science and Health, has proved to me the truth of Mrs. Eddy's statement in "Miscellaneous Writings" (p. 189): "When, as little children, we are receptive, become willing to accept the divine Principle and rule of being, as unfolded in divine Science, the interpretation therein will be found to be the Comforter that leadeth into all truth."
