Items of Interest

When the Items of Interest were instituted, the following statement appeared at the head of this column: "The Christian Science Board of Directors has authorized the publication of this column of brief items relating to our Cause." It should be understood that these Items of Interest are designed to be informative and helpful, but they are not mandatory. They advise the readers of happenings in our movement that are of interest, of arrangements made under the approval of The Christian Science Board of Directors, of victories won through the application of our Leader's teachings. They carry a message that may meet certain needs, but they should not become a basis for urgency in the altering of procedures in branch churches. The statements appearing in our periodicals over the signature of the Board of Directors of The Mother Church and those bearing the heading "From the Directors" should be regarded as in a different classification from the Items of Interest.

Mr. W. Stuart Booth, of Brookline, Massachusetts, one of the three Trustees of The Christian Science Publishing Society, has been appointed by The Christian Science Board of Directors to fill a vacancy in the Board of Trustees for Gifts and Endowments. Christian Scientists know Mr. Booth also as a former member of The Christian Science Board of Lectureship, and a former Associate Editor of the Christian Science periodicals.
