You have published an interesting article entitled "Medicine and Life." I was interested in the unusual front it presented towards disease. It is not unnatural that such a survey should include Christian Science, but your correspondent referred to its teaching as an "absurdity."

Christian Science is reinstating the teaching of Jesus, whose healing work demonstrated that he viewed man from an opposite angle to that of mortals. Mrs. Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, discovered this correct viewpoint, and Christian Science reveals it as seeing man in the image of God. Therefore, in Christian Science man is seen to be spiritual, not material. To the materialist this may appear an "absurdity"; but is it more so than the admonition of Jesus, "Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect"? When Jesus healed the blind beggar he said, "Receive thy sight." To those who viewed this man physically, such a command was a palpable absurdity, but Jesus' Christliness enabled him to see the image of God, "And immediately he received his sight."

We cannot go anywhere without going all the way, and Christian Scientists are taught to look where Jesus looked, and see what he saw; and although we have not reached the height of Jesus' demonstrations, it must be admitted that the healing and redeeming works already accomplished by Christian Scientists are proof that they have entered upon the right path.
