Extracts from Reports of Christian Science Committees on Publication

We have again cause for gratitude in the attitude of the press of the province. Once again, not one misrepresentation of or attack on our religion was brought to my notice, with the exception of a joke in the magazine the Outspan, which was of so slight a nature as not to merit any attention from this office. The Friend has published several articles reprinted from The Christian Science Monitor, giving due credit in each instance.

The Heilbron Herald has renewed its subscription to the Monitor under the arrangement whereby a subscription is exchanged for an equivalent value of advertising in the newspaper, and the editor, in a letter to this office, stated that he found the paper very interesting and that he passed it on to others, so that we have an unofficial "distribution committee" in Heilbron.

The lecture delivered in Bloemfontein was presented in full in the Friend, and I understand the edition containing it was sold out. Two illustrations, supplied by this office, were used in connection with the report, and every effort was made by the newspaper to make the edition containing the report attractive and harmonious.
