Nearly
thirty years ago some questions were presented to Mary Baker Eddy by a reporter for the Boston.
Students
of Christian Science are always well advised in holding to an attitude of unswerving loyalty to authorized Christian Science literature.
In
medical parlance, the word "resistance" is used to indicate that physical quality which it is claimed enables one more or less successfully to combat fatigue, disease, and even death itself, and it is believed that this resistance in some degree can be built up or broken down according to one's observance of material laws of health.
In the third of a series of articles recently published in the Anglo-Brazilian Chronicle mention was made of a book in which the author claims to have received spirit messages from Mary Baker Eddy and attempts to modify her teaching in its relation to spiritualism.
You have published an interesting article entitled "Medicine and Life.
An article, "Seen from the Top O' the World," in the January 16 issue of your paper contains the following statement: "During our late debauch we became so involved in Christian Science bookkeeping, and so enamored of it, that we forgot quite completely why we were keeping books.
I could
not understand the reason whyThe world was sad and full of bitterness;What meant the ceaseless rushing to and froOf mortals, catching at a fleeting glimpseOf that they thought spelled happiness complete,Though, having caught it, saw it swiftly dashedIn pieces 'neath their eyes.
We have again cause for gratitude in the attitude of the press of the province.

good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning," writes James in the first chapter of his epistle.

When I was a very small child my mother was completely healed, through Christian Science, of an illness which doctors had pronounced incurable.
The healing power of divine Love, as revealed by Christian Science, was clearly demonstrated in our family recently.
For the benefit and encouragement of any sufferer I give this testimony of the wonderful healing which I experienced four years ago.
About twenty-four years ago Christian Science came into my life with its cheering message of healing for all human discord.
I wish to express my gratitude for the many healings I have had since I became interested in Christian Science, one of which was of a disease supposedly caused by an accident which I had in early girlhood.
