Symbols

I love the silver mist of dawn,
Its banners, rose and gold,
The dew-pearled buds and blossoms sweet,
That with the light unfold.

I love the sunlight's golden beams,
And sunset's flushing skies,
The dimming twilight, soft and cool,
The glowing stars that rise;

And yet they do but promise fair
And lovelier things above,
The glory, beauty, and the joy
Of our dear Father's love.

The tender roselight of the dawn
To us is but the sign
Of softly glowing radiance
That shines from Love divine.

And thus, in all the loveliness
Of earth or starry field,
We see the beauty of that world
Which is by Love revealed,

The things not seen by human eye,
God's thoughts divinely fair,
The beauty of His holiness,
His love and tender care.
