In loving gratitude I wish to contribute my testimony

In loving gratitude I wish to contribute my testimony. Christian Science came into my life when I was a child, after I had been given up by the medical profession. I was normal and healthy until I was about four years of age, then a disease, which medical science was unable to name, came on very gradually. After four years under the care of several doctors, I was completely helpless, unable to walk or to turn myself in bed. When the best nerve specialists said that there was nothing more they could do, my parents turned to Christian Science for help. My healing was slow. I had treatments for nearly a year before I could walk. I was carried around in Sunday school when I first attended. Words cannot express what a joy and help the Sunday school was to me. I shall never cease to be grateful to those Scientists who saw to my transportation to and from church. In another year I was able to attend school. My healing has been complete and permanent.

God has been my only physician, and Truth my only medicine for the last twenty-three years. I have been beautifully protected and have led a happy and active life through this truth that makes men free. My husband was healed in three treatments of blood poisoning in his hand. He did not lose one hour from his work, which required him to use the typewriter. In these times of adjustment we have trusted God more and more for every need. We have gained a better understanding of substance as spiritual, not material.

I am most grateful to our Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, for giving Christian Science to mankind, and for the means she has provided for giving us a better understanding. I am grateful for membership in The Mother Church and in one of its branches.
