Faith and Faithfulness

While the idea of faith appears very often in the Bible, especially in the New Testament, we find in the eleventh chapter of Hebrews what has been called "the great epic of faith." This chapter should be read and pondered often, so that one may keep awake to the truth at all times and never come under the spell of doubt and fear. Of this we are warned in Tennyson's great poem, "In Memoriam," in which are these lines:

If e'er when faith had fallen asleep,
I heard a voice, "Believe no more,"
And heard an ever-breaking shore
That tumbled in the Godless deep;
