This testimony is written in gratitude and love for the many healings I have had through applying the teachings contained in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by our Leader. I am increasingly grateful for the universality and availability of this practical religion to all who turn to it.
For those who may feel as I did years ago, I should like to emphasize here that I was positively and aggressively opposed to Christian Science; and it was only through the insistence of a friend that I commenced to read Science and Health. Right from the start the ideas contained in this book appealed to me as presenting the first concept of the creator I could understand and accept, as the one God to whom I could readily turn at all times. In continuing my reading to learn more of these truths, and with no thought of being healed of the illness from which at the time I was suffering, when I was halfway through the book I was completely healed of constipation in an advanced and distressing form. Help from doctors, osteopaths, and finally from a stomach specialist had been of no avail, and instead of getting better, the condition had rapidly become worse. Naturally I gladly turned to this study and shortly purchased my own books.
Two or three years later, when a severe cold did not yield, I overcame a very unnatural reluctance to having help from a Christian Science practitioner, and the healing then took place very quickly and beautifully. I have since learned of the beautiful work being done by practitioners. I have been healed during the last ten years of nervous trouble, sleeplessness, ptomaine poisoning, sinus trouble, boils, and many undesirable traits of character.
