Some time ago I was thrown under a car
Some time ago I was thrown under a car. I was taken to a receiving hospital, where the doctors said that I had a broken back and several other broken bones, and that if I lived I should never be well again. In my conscious moments I declared the truth as we are taught in Christian Science, that I am God's perfect child. In Science and Health our Leader says (p. 465), in answer to the question, "What is God?" "God is incorporeal, divine, supreme, infinite Mind, Spirit, Soul, Principle, Life, Truth, Love." I realized that I was incorporeal because I could not be separated from God. I also declared that my life was neither in nor of matter.
My sister and a Christian Science practitioner whom I knew came to the hospital, and some time later I was removed to the place where I lived. The first night, and, I believe, part of the second, they sat up with me. When I think of the way they helped me, I am profoundly grateful to both of them. All through this experience I kept repeating, "Truth is power." Three weeks after this I went to work again. One knee would go out of place as I walked, but I held steadfastly to the truth, and this condition also was completely healed.
I have also been healed of what I was told was a fibroid tumor. I went to a practitioner for help and, after leaving her office, I went to my room and picked up Science and Health. After reading a few passages my fear was entirely destroyed, and I experienced a complete and permanent healing.
