In reply to the letter headed "Christian Science" and signed "N. B." which appeared on Monday, I should like simply to state that Christian Science does not, in any sense, "substitute 'faith' for the 'moral conduct' which is emphasized in the teaching of Christ." In the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," Mrs. Eddy has written (p. 483): "In order to heal by Science, you must not be ignorant of the moral and spiritual demands of Science nor disobey them. Moral ignorance or sin affects your demonstration, and hinders its approach to the standard in Christian Science."
