The Way Out

More than fifty years ago Mary Baker Eddy plainly revealed the way out of all depression, lack, hunger, privation, destitution. She says in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 226), "I saw before me the sick, wearing out years of servitude to an unreal master in the belief that body governed them, rather than Mind;" and in her statement on page 225 of that same inspired volume, "Love is the liberator," she shows in four words the way out of all unreal bondage.

Centuries before, Isaiah discerned this new-old way and cried to the children of Israel: "And an highway shall be there, and a way, and it shall be called The way of holiness.... No lion shall be there, nor any ravenous beast shall go up thereon, ... and the ransomed of the Lord shall return, and come to Zion with songs and everlasting joy upon their heads: they shall obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away." The way out is truly the way of holiness, for spiritual love and holiness are inseparable. This great fact was revealed and demonstrated by Christ Jesus.

Unselfed love is the open doorway into the very heart of the kingdom of heaven on earth, and this joy-filled realm of peace and harmony, and overflowing abundance of good, has no other portal. Since there is no partiality in divine Love, and since Love is ever present and universal, it is plain that no one is debarred from partaking of the bread of heaven and drinking of the water of eternal Life. It is only error in human thought that claims to build up mental barriers between us and realization of the everlasting joy and gladness of which Isaiah wrote.
