Permit me to make some remarks regarding an article in...

Lørdagsavisen, Tidens Tegn, Oslo

Permit me to make some remarks regarding an article in Lødagsavisen of the 4th inst., wherein Christian Science is mentioned. The author of the article evidently has not gained his knowledge of this religion from the writings of Mrs. Eddy or from other authorized Christian Science literature.

Christian Science does not teach that it is "a crime" or "a kind of blasphemy" to be sick. But it maintains that men through Christ, Truth, may obtain ever greater dominion over sickness; that Christianity, besides being the highest religion, also includes the most perfect healing method; that this healing method originally was an essential element of the Christian religion, and that it still should be so.

Anybody who really wants to know what Christian Science teaching is and what it does, will soon find out that a considerable part of its adherents consists of people who through its teachings have found healing after all other means had failed them. It is not at all seldom that physicians in America and England, where Christian Science has its largest following, refer patients to Christian Science when they themselves can do no more for them.
