I wish to acknowledge and express my gratitude for all...
I wish to acknowledge and express my gratitude for all the good that has come to me through the study of Christian Science. At the time this Science was presented to me I accepted it not so much for its healing power as for the spiritual food it gave me. However, after studying the textbook, Science and Health, I found that I had been completely healed of a discordant condition which had existed from childhood, that of palpitation of the heart. This healing was followed by one of sinus trouble. I am indeed grateful for these wonderful proofs of the healing power of Christian Science.
Another healing which has given our family great cause for gratitude was that of our young daughter. While going to school one morning she was run over by an automobile, traveling at a high rate of speed, which dragged her approximately sixty feet before coming to a stop. Viewing the accident, I declared that she lived, moved, and had her being in God. The driver of the car wanted to take her to the hospital, but I firmly refused all material aid. I carried her into the house and laid her on the bed, and noticed that she was in a coma or stupor. Those who had witnessed the accident thought that she was dying. Sensing their fear, I asked to be left alone, then called a Christian Science practitioner, who lovingly took up the work. To material sense there was a head fracture, as well as internal injuries. By the next day these conditions, along with minor body fractures, had been completely healed.
I feel unbounded gratitude to God, our heavenly Father-Mother, and to Mrs. Eddy, our revered Leader, whose spiritual understanding enabled her to give to the world, through the pages of the textbook, the new-old truth which makes free from sin, sickness, and death. I am grateful for the loving help of the practitioner, for membership in The Mother Church and a branch Church of Christ, Scientist, and for the joyous experience of class instruction with a teacher whose privilege it was to have lived in Mrs. Eddy's home.
