I should like to tell how I was healed of consumption by Christian Science.
From childhood I was taught to love the things of God and always attended an orthodox church. When I became older and had a home of my own I had much sorrow, which I had been taught God permitted. My youngest boy was born during the war when I was alone. The little fellow became the light of my life, for he filled a place which was seemingly empty. When he was five years old he became ill, and the doctors said there was no hope for his life. When the child passed on I vowed within myself that I would not rest until I learned about God, who could and would heal and who would not allow little children to suffer.
I had had consumption when this child was born and was in a sanatorium for some time. With this new sorrow the disease presented itself again. The doctor whom I always visited when necessary said I must report at the public health department, as my lungs were diseased. The doctor there confirmed what the previous doctor had said. I was glad of this. I was tired of life and felt that this might be the way of finding God. I had tried every way I knew, and attended many churches, but with the same hopeless result.
