It was through reading a testimony in the Christian Science Sentinel...
It was through reading a testimony in the Christian Science Sentinel a number of years ago that I was led to take up the study of Christian Science. A dear friend had invited me to attend a lecture on Christian Science, and this Sentinel was handed to me after the lecture. I opened it to a testimony written by a lady from my home city. I felt no doubt of the truth it contained, and continued to read every article. Being greatly impressed and wanting to know more about Christian Science, I inquired of my friend where I might get "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, and she lovingly went with me to a public library, where I borrowed one for two weeks. I had not finished reading the first page when I felt sure I had found that for which I had been looking since childhood. After returning the book I purchased one.
I had not known a well day and seldom one free from pain for years. All this time I was under some form of treatment. Two physicians had suggested an operation as a means of relief, but to this I did not consent. After reading Science and Health a few days I threw away all medicine and have never tasted or felt any need of a drop for over twenty-four years. I am most grateful for Christ Jesus, and for our dear Leader. It is with a deep sense of gratitude that I am sending this testimony.
