My first experience in Christian Science was an instantaneous healing of rheumatism. I am sorry to say that I did not take up the study of Science at that time. I really did not understand how that beautiful healing was brought about. A few years later I had a severe sore throat, and when the doctors discharged me from the hospital they told me that I must return in three weeks to have my tonsils removed. That was never done, for the next day I went to a Christian Science practitioner and was healed.
Since then I have had many physical healings through Christian Science, including those of laryngitis, pleurisy, pneumonia, and neuralgia. I am especially grateful for a healing of grippe. While this was being worked out through the loving help of a practitioner I noticed to my great joy that, although I had not told the practitioner about it, I was free from a roaring noise in my left ear, which had bothered me for about four years.
I am so grateful to our revered Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, for giving us this truth which heals all discordant conditions. It has never failed me when I have applied it earnestly and sincerely. I am also grateful for membership in The Mother Church and a branch church, and for the opportunity of serving on the Literature Distribution Committee. I appreciate and enjoy all of our periodicals, especially our clean daily newspaper, The Christian Science Monitor. For all the help I have had from practitioners, and for my many blessings in Christian Science I am deeply grateful.
