On behalf of The Mother Church I welcome you all to this lecture on Christian Science. In an article entitled "Pond and Purpose" Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, states the spirit of her life-purpose in these words (Miscellaneous Writings, p. 207): "To impress humanity with the genuine recognition of practical, operative Christian Science."
