Reflection

I stood beside a lake of crystal water

And saw the clouds reflected from the sky; I could not tell the real from the reflection, So perfect was the image to the eye.

A sea gull flew above the quiet water

With widely moving wings against the blue; Twas mirrored there in beauty and perfection, And as the flying bird the image flew.

And may we thus reflect God's gracious goodness;

So live, and move with Him, in being one,

That every man who walks in this protection Shall fully image forth the perfect son.
