Business and Businesses

ARE the problems which confront business men and women problems of true business or of material businesses? Proper discrimination between these concepts is very important, in order that specific business problems may be successfully solved in Christian Science.

Christ Jesus presented the nature of true business when, in his Sermon on the Mount, he spoke of the fowls of the air and the lilies of the field as being cared for by our heavenly Father. It is possible, then, to define true business as the activity of divine Mind, God, continually meeting every need of creation, be it big or infinitesimal. True business is spiritual. It is above, beyond, and entirely out of the reach of so-called economic cycles and competitive forces. It is sustained by infinite resources, ample to meet every need. It is incapable of being manipulated. Its beneficent laws are irresistible and inviolable. It is ever available, complete, righteous. Being infinite, it must be one. This spiritual sense of business is the true sense and involves no inharmony.

To the unspiritualized human consciousness business appears to be material, and all related problems arise from this material sense of business. Christian Science is presenting to the business world the Science of spiritual healing, and is proving that it is potent in meeting and solving these problems. It is doing this in a natural, inconspicuous manner, and is now and here being proved step by step in the individual experiences of those seeking its healing ministrations.
