Divine Healing

[Original article in German]

Mrs EDDY writes in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 145), "If there is any mystery in Christian healing, it is the mystery which godliness always presents to the ungodly, — the mystery always arising from ignorance of the laws of eternal and unerring Mind."

When, drawn by Jesus' spirituality, Nicodemus came to him by night, he referred thus to the Master's wonderful works: "Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God : for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him." Nicodemus had recognized that Jesus' visible works were the manifestations of his God-enlightened understanding, and that by his deeds he was teaching men what a consciousness united to Truth is capable of doing. Jesus replied: "Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. . . . That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of Spirit is spirit." With these words Jesus pointed out to him, and tc us all, the way out of material beliefs into the spiritual understanding of God, Spirit.

In his first letter to the Corinthians, Paul speaks of "the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom;" and he adds, "Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him."
