With grateful appreciation of the opportunity given to...
With grateful appreciation of the opportunity given to all mankind for spiritual enlightenment and healing through attendance at a Christian Science lecture, I offer this testimony of physical healing which occurred during a lecture given by a member of the Board of Lectureship of The Mother Church. The healing was of a surgical nature. A blow had been experienced on the forehead, so forceful that the head had jerked backward, causing a dislocation at the center back of the neck. The acute suffering was overcome in about three quarters of an hour, but the dull ache and feeling of insufficient support of the head continued for some weeks. The lecturer so clearly unfolded the nature of Christ, Truth, as taught in the Bible and in the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, that I was conscious only of spiritual uplifting and illumination, and physical healing was the result. An audible snap indicated the replacement at the back of the neck, and all discomfort instantly vanished.
On page 332 of the above-named textbook we read, "Christ is the true idea voicing good, the divine message from God to men speaking to the human consciousness." Every Christian Science lecture will continue to bring the vision of the Christ, Truth, healing and blessing mankind.
I am grateful to God for the revelation to this age of Christian Science, and for our revered Leader, who was pure enough to receive it and transcribe the message.—(Mrs.) Florence D. Gillette, New Haven, Connecticut.
