A-Magasinet (Aftenposten)

In A-Magasinet of March 7, a professor has a very interesting article entitled "The Christian Church and the Miracle." The article, however, contains some statements about Christian Science which are not correct. I therefore beg for space in your magazine to give the following information.

The conditions which the professor states as being necessary for a healing to be a "Christian miracle" are wholly fulfilled by the healings which are continually taking place through Christian Science.

In her book, "Rudimental Divine Science" (p. 2), Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, writes: "Healing physical sickness is the smallest part of Christian Science. It is only the bugle-call to thought and action, in the higher range of infinite goodness. The emphatic purpose of Christian Science is the healing of sin; and this task, sometimes, may be harder than the cure of disease; because, while mortals love to sin, they do not love to be sick." It runs like a leading thread through the teachings of Christian Science that sin is one of the chief causes of disease; and often it is a sin which must be corrected before one can receive the desired healing, or remain well.
