In a recent issue of the Press appeared a reference to what Christian Science teaches regarding death, that gives an inadequate statement concerning this question.

The position of Christian Science as regards death is that of the Saviour, who repeatedly said that those who understood his sayings would be able to demonstrate eternal life. For example, the Master defines "life eternal" as a knowledge of "the only true God, and Jesus Christ." Further, we find this: "Verily, verily, I say unto you, If a man keep my saying, he shall never see death;" and, "Whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die."

Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, teaches that death is no part of God's creation or plan of salvation, and that in the divine economy there is no death, since God is infinite Life. In "Unity of Good" (p. 40) she writes, "To say that you and I, as mortals, will not enter this dark shadow of material sense, called death, is to assert what we have not proved; but man in Science never dies."
