"Receive thy sight"

CHRISTIAN SCIENCE says to all, in the words of the Master, "Receive thy sight;" and as many as are willing and receptive are receiving spiritual sight and glorifying God. Thus is the prophecy of Isaiah being fulfilled: "And in that day shall the deaf hear the words of the book, and the eyes of the blind shall see out of obscurity, and out of darkness."

To those with an understanding of Christian Science, "the words of the book" are none other than the inspired words of the Bible and of the textbook of Christian Science, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. Their inspired words are indeed enabling a weary and burdened world to escape from the darkness of material sense and in some measure behold the radiant reality and continuity of spiritual being. And once more are springing forth on every side the signs of healing, which Christ Jesus promised should follow them that believe.

One may ask, How can I be healed when for years I have not seen? or, How can the teachings of Christ Jesus cause me to hear? Now, what is it that has not been seen or heard? In the truest sense, is it not the unobstructed vision of perfect God and perfect man which one has failed to seek; the voice of God which one has neglected to listen for or has misunderstood? The arguments of the five physical senses are the same to-day as they always have been. They reiterate the false belief of life and sensation in matter. The same truth with which Christ Jesus destroyed this belief, and thereby restored the incapacitated to useful activity, is forever operative, for Truth is eternal.
