"Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh." Out of the abundance of blessings bestowed upon my family and me, I wish to give this testimony, joyfully telling others of what Christian Science has done for me.

About thirty-five years ago my father passed on, and my mother was told by the most eminent physicians available here that she could not hope to live more than a few months, or even that long unless she went to a western climate. Just when all hope seemed to be lost, a dear friend called my mother's attention to Christian Science, which she agreed to try, and in a few weeks she was thoroughly healed of many serious troubles from which she had suffered for years. She lived for more than twenty years after this time, a happy and useful life, due to the healing power of Truth as taught in Christian Science.

This healing led me into Christian Science, and I have been healed of many diseases. Early in my experience in the study of Christian Science I thought that if I could once be healed of a case of toothache, then I would admit the healing efficacy of its teachings. I soon had this experience which, needless to say, strengthened me and enabled me to see more clearly, in later trials, that matter of itself could not testify to pain, and that disease is always a mental illusion, which Truth dispels. When I married, my wife was not a student of Christian Science, but she is now an active worker and a member of a branch church. For this alone I am extremely grateful. Perhaps only those who have had this experience may fully appreciate the deep sense of gratitude I feel for the unity of thought and action in our home. We have a daughter thirteen years of age who is a regular attendant at a Christian Science Sunday School, and she uses her knowledge of the truth, as children are always so eager to do. Some time ago this little girl, then a baby, was healed of a severe attack of influenza in a few hours. It came on about midnight; three treatments were given, and by morning she was completely healed. We have two grown-up sons, both of whom have been reared in Christian Science, and I am very grateful to say they are members of The Mother Church and of branch churches. One of the most wonderful blessings that Christian Science has to give is to enable young men to meet and overcome the temptations and lusts of the flesh. Christian Science gives moral courage and spiritual strength to them when all other helpers fail. These two youths have been sustained and blessed by their practice of what they have learned of Christian Science. They have been healed through Christian Science of many diseases which seem to attack children in their younger years, and have never taken medicine of any kind.
