In counting over some of the blessings which have come...

In counting over some of the blessings which have come into my life since studying Christian Science, I feel that words are inadequate to express the great sense of gratitude I feel to God for the boundless unfolding of good all along the way.

Christian Science was presented to me after five years of effort to get well with the aid of many kind physicians, and at a time when, through suffering from stomach trouble, I was a mental and physical wreck. For several years I could not eat a meal, and had reached the place where for months I had taken only liquids at intervals, with much suffering; and I was crushed with fear and anxiety. At this time the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, was borrowed from a Christian Science Reading Room, and given to me to read. I tried to read the book, but with my hopeless outlook I could not see anything in it for me. After several weeks I returned the book to the Reading Room and informed the librarian that I could not understand it. The librarian lovingly opened the book and turned through the pages to different statements of truth, which I readily understood, and thus she assured me I could understand the book and be healed. This was my first ray of hope in years; and here I wish to express my deep gratitude for the Christian Science Reading Rooms, where the seeds of hope and trust in God's love were planted in my consciousness. Day after day for many months I visited this Reading Room, seeking and finding more understanding of God's goodness. The way has not been easy, for there was so much fear and doubt, superstition and selfishness; but I am grateful to say that with the patient, loving help of a Christian Science practitioner the distressing condition has been completely healed and all fear of food has been overcome.

The freedom this healing alone has brought is great cause for gratitude, but I could not mention here all the blessings and healings I have received since studying Christian Science. Every phase of my human experience has been improved. In my family we have had healings of ptomaine poisoning, chronic tonsillitis, hemorrhage from a severed artery, the smoking habit, severe colds, and an instantaneous healing of strangling. I am indeed grateful to God for this great revelation of His goodness and mercy, as given to the world through the teachings of Christian Science, and for all the loving help I have received from Christian Science practitioners in gaining the little understanding I have of God.—(Mrs.) Florence M. Tate, Upper Darby, Pennsylvania.
