For many years Christian Science has been my only remedy...
For many years Christian Science has been my only remedy for suffering of every kind, physical and mental, and it has indeed been a gospel of peace in our home. It found me when I was longing for a God whom I could understand and consequently love, and it has fully met that need, healed all worry concerning religious problems, and destroyed the sense of being outside the kingdom of heaven. It has healed me of concussion of the brain, throat trouble, and nasal catarrh; of influenza in one night; of fear of wasps; and of fits of depression. I was instantaneously healed of sickness when taken ill on my way to work. One moment I was lying prostrate; the next I was up, quite restored, and worked through a busy day in perfect harmony and freedom. The repetition, with understanding, of the Lord's Prayer and the Daily Prayer from the Manual (Art. VIII, Sect. 4), by Mary Baker Eddy, healed me of fatigue when tramping over the hills. Reliance on the one Mind and some understanding of man as the reflection of God, Mind, have enabled me to pass examinations when, to material sense, circumstances seemed heavily against me.
The spiritual fact that "in him we live, and move, and have our being" has been proved when I have felt it right to change my place of employment, and much progress has been demonstrated at each change. Also, when we needed a home this truth was applied, and the way in which we were shown what to do and what not to do, has ever since been a source of gratitude. Although I was brought up in a religious atmosphere, my father being a minister, it was not until I began the study of Christian Science that I found the promises recorded in the Bible really practicable in our everyday life, and God, good, to be a demonstrable fact. I feel very grateful that in the writings of Mrs. Eddy we have a veritable "key" to the Scriptures which unlocks their spiritual meaning and proves their truth.—(Miss) Florrie A. Ashcroft, Worsley, near Manchester, England.
