[Written for the Sentinel]

Recognition

Hath life become a seeming blank to thee,
Devoid of love, where love did once abound?
Rejoice! and with uplifted vision see
The place whereon thou stand'st is holy ground.

There is no space God's presence doth not fill,
But where if heeded, there is heard His call;
Oh, listen to the tender "Peace, be still;"
Behold Him here, thy Life, thy Love, thy All.
