[Written for the Sentinel]

Omnipresence

When doubt besets me, then I sing;
When fear assails me, then I cling
To God as omnipresent good;
And His great presence, understood,
Has never failed in calm to bring
The comfort of His shielding wing.

When pride or envy rear their heads,
Or anger fiercely o'er me treads,
Then must I know Omnipotence,
And other powers a poor pretense.
So peace its blessing on me sheds,
Which leaves no doubts, or fears, or dreads.

Since God is All-in-all to me,
Love and completeness there must be.
The path is by Omniscience shown,
That leads where joy alone is known.
From mists and dimness I am free,
For Love's great beauty I can see.
