I cannot remember ever having good health for any long...
I cannot remember ever having good health for any long period of time until I was healed through Christian Science in January, 1925. In 1922 I had a very severe attack of appendicitis, followed by two slighter ones. They left me with adhesions which were very painful, and I spent many days in sickness. In December, 1924, while in a distant city, I became worse and went to the only doctor I knew. He told me that I had leakage of the heart, and that he could give me no permanent relief for the adhesions; that I must not run, hurry, get tired, or even exert myself unnecessarily. After treating me he advised me to make arrangements for an operation as soon as convenient because, he said, I would probably be compelled to have it eventually. I came home thinking I must soon go back for the operation.
A friend asked me if I cared to go to her doctor, and I consented, thinking I would rather do anything than have the operation. Her "doctor" proved to be a Christian Science practitioner. I went to him not believing in Christian Science, but believing God could do anything. The practitioner gave me one treatment. The next morning I got out of bed without pain for the first time in many weeks. In the following days I had peculiar feelings in my side, but these were soon gone. I had very little pain after going to the practitioner, and though it returned at times I steadily refused to allow it to trouble me, and finally it left entirely. In less than a week after I went to the practitioner I ran two blocks trying to catch a street car, even forgetting I was not supposed to run.
I have since received instantaneous relief from a severe neuralgic pain, and Christian Science has helped me through many other ills and problems. Words cannot express my gratitude to Christian Science and to the practitioner.—(Mrs.)Leetah Smith Stetson, Erie, Pennsylvania.
