Jesus' Example
Sometime , somewhere, every individual must prove in his own experience the true nature and source of supply. However affluent one may seem to be in a material way, or however lacking in this world's goods, this is a demonstration which all must make.
Christian Science teaches us that God creates all true ideas, and that He also provides for their every need; that throughout eternity His immutable law has ever maintained, and will continue to maintain, this provision. It is each one's privilege to begin to avail himself now of the immeasurable good which this law ordains for all. We know positively that this can be done, because we are assured by the much loved and often quoted statement of Mrs. Eddy on page 494 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" that "divine Love always has met and always will meet every human need." Throughout the ages, whenever it has been rightly appealed to, divine Love has delivered men from every possible phase of error or combination of errors that material sense has claimed to devise.
Christ Jesus, the Way-shower, gave an inspiring and practical example when he fed the multitude from an apparently limited supply of loaves and fishes. The Biblical account tells us there "were about five thousand men, beside women and children," and only five loaves and two fishes with which to feed them. The record further shows that the disciples wanted to disperse the people. They were mesmerized, as mortals so often are, by the seeming lack of supply.
