Independence, Missouri (First Church).—Members of First Church of Christ, Scientist, Independence, expect to erect their new church building this summer. A foundation for it they already possess on their property at 108 South Pleasant Avenue, just off Lexington Avenue. This basement, roofed over, is their present meeting place. The style is that of Colonial New England. Walls will be of red brick, its dimensions, seventy-two by forty feet. The greater part of the church space will be utilized in the auditorium, which will have a seating capacity of three hundred and fifty persons. There also will be two Readers' rooms and a cloakroom. Basement space will be rearranged for Sunday school quarters.—The Kansas City Star.
