Verity

Spiritual verity is mankind's ever present refuge from material falsity. As understood in Christian Science, verity and harmony are inseparable; so it is only through reflecting God's verity that we can enter into His harmony. Truth itself is ever present to supply any lack of verity in our thinking; therefore no inharmony should be suffered to intrude or to remain in thought after it has been detected. Through the might of Christ, Truth, the detection and ejection of error's suggestions can be simultaneous. One can, and should, always and immediately turn away from any sense of discord by utilizing the boundless verity which destroys all that is unlike Truth in human consciousness. This verity is not far to seek, for on page 543 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" Mrs. Eddy writes, "The great verities of existence are never excluded by falsity." What a challenge this is to awaken from physical sense deception!

Some mortals are sorely tempted to believe that, although verity may be present for more fortunate or more spirituallyminded individuals, yet in their case false belief is able to exclude them from realization of God's verity. No lie can enter Truth, for Truth is intact, and we can all be true witnesses, provided we perseveringly cooperate with our highest understanding of divine Principle, increase this understanding, and obey the rules of Christian Science. There is never any absence of omnipresent good, for what could displace infinite good? God contains no disintegrating or self-destructive element; therefore man is immortal. If evil were a factor in His purposes, the creator of the universe and man would also be their destroyer, and such a paradox is to be summarily rejected.

Yet are not mortals taught to believe that so-called organic disease can destroy what is misnamed organic life? The one and only Life is inorganic, eternal, spiritual, untouched by matter or carnal beliefs, forever indestructible. Pantheistic fears, while they have dire effects upon those who entertain them, are unable to touch God's verity. So Truth's refuge is always available to mankind through spiritual sense.
